This autumn the urge to feel free and outside shapes the language of style. Designers looked to nature itself for inspiration. A call to be one with the landscape, where heritage pieces and functional classics take on new forms with refined cuts, textured fabrics and functional accents inspired by performance wear. The trench coat. The duffle coat. Even the Wellington boot.
Max Mara grounded its silhouettes in earthy tones. Burberry reimagined the countryside in outerwear and leather. Dior and Tod’s played with a sense of Britishness in the outdoors. Hermès introduced checks in its men’s collection. Sacai fused performance details with precision tailoring. Across collections layering defined the silhouette, different lengths adding volume and texture.
For me, this trend reflects a desire to embrace the colder seasons fully. In the Netherlands a single day can feel like four seasons. Sunshine. Showers. Mist. Clothes mirror that landscape. Autumn hues bring the outdoors into everyday life, even in the city.
