Golden

From the series Golden

Fragility forms the core of Golden, a photo series exploring how heritage, surface and intention shape one another. Chinoiserie elements, jewellery with Hong Kong lineage, contemporary forms and selected beauty icons come together to create an opulent visual language.

Gold, pearls, jade and silver appear throughout, also creating subtle references to kintsugi. The presence of repaired lines introduces a gentle tension, guiding the viewer towards the places where transformation has taken place. It becomes a way of holding both the past and the present within a single gesture.

Beauty objects such as a Hermès lipstick and the enduring silhouette of Chanel No. 5 extend the narrative of material culture. This was the first perfume my mother ever gave me. I had no idea then how deeply that bottle would settle into my life and my work. It still moves me.

Each object is curated for its form, memory and the way it holds stillness when photographed, allowing it to sit naturally alongside heritage motifs and modern pieces. These studies give me a sense of belonging and energy. They create a space where heritage and abundance can meet, offering a moment of connection to where I come from and how I continue to evolve.

The result reveals how texture, history and personal interpretation create a sense of abundance in contemporary styling. Projects like this express my signature. They reflect how I see beauty and how I translate emotion, heritage and design into a contemporary visual language. I hope this series offers a glimpse into the world I build and inspires curiosity for what comes next.
