Fragrance Notes: Unifrom and Brume Orpin

Unifrom

Personal memories, ingredient choices and pragmatism underpin the work of two founders, one in Stockholm and one in France. Their perfume houses bring distinctive perspectives to contemporary perfumery.

At Unifromâ„¢, founder Haisam Mohammed approaches fragrance as something for everyday life. His compact alcohol-free perfume oils grew out of Stockholm’s nightlife scene, small enough to slip into a pocket. The olfactory references are equally personal. Apartment stairwells filled with incense, spices and cooking aromas became part of his olfactory memory. Alongside perfume oils, the house also explores incense and aluminium objects. Minimalist incense holders double as ashtrays. Leather bags in the same understated Swedish style feel like natural companions to the pocket-sized perfume oils.

Haute perfumery house Brume Orpin, founded by Tiphaine Cogez Cousseau, draws on years spent at the great French maisons. Crafted entirely in France, the house builds its perfumes around a carefully selected palette of ingredients and locally sourced materials. Memories of her grandmother’s Alpine garden even inspired the name itself. Recycled glass, cork and green chemistry all play a role. Even after use, the cork cases are intended for the garden.
