Classic films set in desert landscapes, like Out of Africa and The English Patient, serve as reference for more than one designer this season. Atmosphere, heat, dust and desert. The mood carries into the collections at Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Giorgio Armani, Zegna and Ziggy Chen, where looks move easily between city and travel.
The look this summer is classic, though the cut shifts. Trousers fall wider, jackets lose their lining, and utility enters through detail, with extra pockets and discreet zips set within the line. A rolled scarf with a knot, worn close to the neck, alongside a bag and a thin belt. Soft neutrals, sand, sage, khaki, set the palette, with linen and cotton bringing lightness.
