Maison Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning
The Parisian breakfast has travelled far beyond France. Coffee, a croissant and white porcelain have become cultural symbols, appearing as often in fashion editorials as they do on café tables. Together, they capture the mood of a lazy Sunday morning.
Founded in Paris in 1988, Maison Margiela has redefined luxury by focusing on the ordinary. Through deconstruction, trompe-l’œil, anonymous labels and white-painted interiors, the house invites us to see familiar objects from a different perspective. The Replica collection extends that philosophy by transforming memories into fragrance. Lazy Sunday Morning captures the feeling of fresh linen, morning light and a slow-paced breakfast.
For this still life, I explored the visual language of the French petit déjeuner. Croissants, cups and plates were distilled into their essential forms.
